New Audi RS 5 2026: 639 HP and hybrid technology for the new era of sports cars
Audi RS 5 2026: engine, power, and performance
Under the hood of the new RS 5, we find a new configuration:
2.9 TFSI biturbo V6 engine with 510 HP
Electric motor with 177 HP
Total power 639 HP
Maximum torque 825 Nm
The performance is that of a true supercar:
from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds
maximum speed up to 285 km/h
Compared to the previous generation, the leap is significant both in terms of power and acceleration.
Plug-in hybrid technology and smart charging
The new RS 5 is the first plug-in RS in history and introduces advanced hybrid technology, based on a 25.9 kWh battery - 22 kWh net - rechargeable in AC up to 11 kW, with full charging times of about 2.5 hours.
Among the most innovative solutions are the Battery Charge function, which allows the battery to be charged while driving, the EV mode for 100% electric driving, and intelligent energy management designed to maximize performance, creating a system capable of combining efficiency and sportiness without compromise.
Advanced quattro drive and Dynamic Torque Control
Among the main innovations is the new evolution of the quattro drive, which integrates a central differential with active preload and the new Dynamic Torque Control system, a first for a production model.
This technology allows for extremely rapid torque distribution, in the order of 15 milliseconds, significantly improving cornering precision, oversteer control, and stability even in the most sporty driving, contributing to significantly increasing driving pleasure.
Chassis, frame, and sporty driving
The new RS 5 introduces numerous technical updates, starting with a 10% stiffer body, which improves driving precision, accompanied by RS suspension with dual-valve shock absorbers and more direct and precise steering.
Completing the picture is the option to adopt carbon-ceramic brakes, while the brake-by-wire system effectively integrates energy recovery with traditional braking, maintaining a consistently sporty and natural feel.
Interiors and design: even sportier
Inside, the new RS 5 combines sportiness and technology with a fully digital environment oriented towards the driver.
The Audi Digital Stage system integrates the 11.9” virtual cockpit and the 14.5” MMI display, accompanied by an intuitive and highly customizable interface.
The interior is characterized by RS details, such as the sports steering wheel, wraparound seats, and premium material finishes, designed to offer an engaging driving experience without sacrificing comfort.
The design evolves in an even more muscular direction, with tracks widened up to 93 mm that emphasize road presence, accompanied by the RS dual central exhaust and a racing-inspired rear diffuser.
Completing the look are wheels up to 21 inches, further enhancing the car's sporty impact.
