Audi RS 5 2026: engine, power and performance

Under the hood of the new RS 5 we find an all-new setup:

  • 2.9 TFSI twin-turbo V6 engine with 510 hp
  • 177 hp electric motor
  • Total output 639 hp
  • Maximum torque 825 Nm

The performance is worthy of a true supercar:

  • 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds
  • top speed up to 285 km/h

Compared to the previous generation, the leap is significant both in terms of power and acceleration.

Plug-in hybrid technology and intelligent charging

The new RS 5 is the first plug-in RS in history and introduces advanced hybrid technology, based on a 25.9 kWh battery - 22 kWh net - rechargeable in AC up to 11 kW, with a full charging time of about 2.5 hours.

Among the most innovative solutions are the Battery Charge function, which allows the battery to be recharged while driving, the EV mode for 100% electric driving and an intelligent energy management system designed to maximize performance, creating a system capable of combining efficiency and sportiness without compromise.

Enhanced quattro drive and Dynamic Torque Control

Among the main innovations is the new evolution of quattro drive, which integrates a center differential with active preload and the new Dynamic Torque Control system, an absolute first for a production model.

This technology enables extremely fast torque distribution, in the order of 15 milliseconds, significantly improving cornering precision, oversteer control and stability even in the sportiest driving, helping to significantly increase driving pleasure.

Setup, chassis and sporty driving

The new RS 5 introduces numerous technical updates, starting with a body shell that is 10% stiffer, improving driving precision, paired with RS suspension with dual-valve dampers and more direct, precise steering.

Completing the package is the option of carbon-ceramic brakes, while the brake-by-wire system effectively integrates energy recovery with traditional braking, maintaining a sporty and natural feel at all times.

Inside, the new RS 5 combines sportiness and technology with a fully digital, driver-focused environment.

The Audi Digital Stage system integrates the 11.9” virtual cockpit and the 14.5” MMI display, supported by an intuitive and highly customizable interface.

Defining the cabin are RS details, such as the sport steering wheel, the wraparound seats and the premium material finishes, designed to offer an engaging driving experience without sacrificing comfort.

The design evolves in an even more muscular direction, with tracks widened by up to 93 mm that emphasize its road presence, complemented by the RS exhaust with dual central outlets and a racing-inspired rear diffuser.

The look is completed by wheels up to 21 inches, further enhancing the car’s sporty impact.
