Charging Station Bonus 2026: how the contribution for home charging works

From 22 September 2026, it is possible to apply for the new Home Charging Station Bonus, the contribution intended to support the purchase and installation of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.

The measure, promoted by the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (MIMIT) and managed by Invitalia, provides for a contribution equal to 80% of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of €1,500 for private individuals and €8,000 for condominiums.

Charging Station Bonus 2026: what it provides

The Home Charging Station Bonus is aimed at private individuals residing in Italy and condominiums, and supports the purchase and installation of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles, such as charging stations and wallboxes.

The contribution covers 80% of the purchase and installation cost of the infrastructure, within the limits set by the measure:

• up to €1,500 for each applying private individual;
• up to €8,000 for works carried out on the common areas of condominium buildings.

When can the application be submitted?

For installations carried out in 2026, the contribution applies to infrastructure whose installation is completed between 26 June and 31 December 2026.

Applications can be submitted through Invitalia's platform from 12:00 on 22 September 2026 until 12:00 on 31 January 2027.

The measure provides funding of €15 million for 2026, as part of an overall allocation planned through 2030.

Who can apply for the Charging Station Bonus?

The contribution is intended for domestic users and, specifically, for:

• Private individuals residing in Italy, for the installation of a charging infrastructure for private use.
• Condominiums, through the acting administrator or a delegated condominium owner, for installations on the common areas of buildings.

It is therefore important to distinguish this measure from incentives dedicated to charging infrastructure for businesses and professionals, which follow separate rules.

Which expenses are eligible?

The Charging Station Bonus covers expenses incurred for the purchase and installation of the charging infrastructure.

For 2026, infrastructure whose installation is completed by 31 December 2026, starting from 26 June 2026, is considered eligible.

The contribution is therefore calculated on the amount of eligible expenses, at a rate of 80%, while respecting the maximum limit set for each beneficiary.

How to submit the application

The request for the contribution must be submitted online through the Invitalia platform.

To access the procedure, it is necessary to use SPID, CIE or CNS. The application also requires an active PEC address and documentation relating to the investment made.

The contribution is granted within the limits of the available financial resources and according to the procedures established by the measure.
